Jesus' message to the seven churches

Jesus’ message to the seven churches

These seven letters were written to seven churches located in Asia at that time. The purpose of those letters was to point out the true spiritual condition of those congregations at that time, and to give necessary advice and counsel to those congregations to overcome the devil by repenting of their shortcomings and mistakes.

Jesus named seven churches here, and it is described from them that from the beginning of the church to the end, there are seven ages that the church is going to travel.
1. The Church at Ephesus – The Apostolic Age
(30 AD – 100 AD)
2. The Church of Smyrna – The Age of Religious Persecution
(100 AD – 313 AD)
3. The Church of Pergamum – The Age of State Rule.
(313 AD – 590 AD)
4. The Church of Thyatira – The Age Under the Pope
(590 AD – 1517 AD)
5. The Church of Sardis – The Protestant Era
(1517 AD – 1790 AD)
6. The Church of Philidelphia – The Missionary Era
(1790 AD – 1900 AD)
7. The Church in Laodicea – The Age of Devotion
(1900 AD to end)

Taken as a whole, all of these messages are relevant to the entire Christian church. That means that no matter what era the church goes through, from the beginning of the church to the end, the churches that acted as described by Jesus have always existed.

The seven messages that Jesus gave to the congregation that day are relevant to the lives of all of us who are believers.
